If you choose the 14-30 or L14-30 connector and connect a device that operates on only one Phase (120volts) the wattage and kWh's will be doubled as it's calculated at 240volts

you plug your EV into the Left always on outlet and the meters read amps/watts and accumulates kWh's flowing to this outlet

just strip the meter power wires to 5/8" and insert them with your Hot leads into the appropriate holes and torque to the specified value on the outlet plate
