The rough stone was sourced from the ladies collective we support in South West Madagascar and cut in the countries capitol as part of another of our endeavors supporting a local cutting business

The piece is flat cut with very light faceting visible as the stone is turned

The piece is eye clean and is nicely cut and polished

This beautiful solid opal has been cut to an excellent symmetrical shape in is slightly domed on both sides

Though not completely eye clean the slight haze in the stone helps trap light and in turn strengthen the rich body colour and the only inclusion visible to the eye is a slight wisp that is well hidden by the side crown facets
